I gave a little futuristic talk the other week. I made a few edits and a few more ideas to tighten its focus. Most importantly I have changed the title and scope. I think we are approaching an era I have called iDrug or intelligent drug discovery. I hope its self explanatory. I begin by going back over some recent uses of Bayesian models and mobile apps to show how some predictions were years ahead of the company that ultimately published data themselves. Then I think about how labs of the future may be controlled and onto how we might design drugs from our own homes (or potentially anywhere by mobile app) and how this might be accessible to anyone. My focus is making the drug discovery process more accessible and engaging others in this quest.
