On Sunday I will be heading to the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) 2014 meeting in San Diego.
It will be a very quick trip to give a talk on Monday “Cheminformatics Workflows Using Mobile Apps for Drug Discovery” followed by a poster in the afternoon “Dual Response and Dataset Fusion for Machine Learning Models for Hit to Lead Optimization in Mycobacterium Tuberculosis Drug Discovery“. Then I will head home on the red eye. I would have stayed longer except being half of a dual career family, in which the other half has business travel the rest of the week, someone has to look after the children. And that will be me.
Last year I spent a couple of days at the SLAS meeting in Florida, saw a brilliant Keynote talk and gave a talk myself on the dispensing work, which at that point was still submitted to a journal. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the location. San Diego is a long way to go for a day and a half. Not quite sure what to expect, but I look forward to meeting lots of great scientists like last year. Being quite heavily populated with screening and informatics types I am sure there will be plenty to talk about. Maybe There will be questions on the dispensing work as well!
