Dragon’s Den Pistoia Alliance project inspired by #scio12

I am currently in London, a little jet lagged, for a 2 day Pistoia Alliance board meeting. I cannot say much about it other than I am representing CDD. Oh and on the last night there will be a social event at the Royal Society of Chemistry called Dragons Den. This is a spoof of a tv show apparently. The goal in this case is to present a new idea that will be to revolutize pharma in 2015. Having been inspired by science online 2012 discussions on open notebooks and data overload as well as scribing ideas.. I used my iPad to rough sketch a few ideas. I came up with a concept I have called Open Drug Discovery Dream Teams that merges finding the right researchers and ways to centralize all the open data output on specific topics or diseases of interest. After doing this I sent it to a few folks for feedback. Alex Clark wanted to produce a prototype and he will blog on this in future. He also gave it the look and feel of one of my favourite ipad apps- all in under a week!!!! I think its a great starting point and will show more once I have gone live tomorrow night.

My goal is that it should be as easy for scientific collaborators as well as patient advocates to see data of interest and to communicate with scientists putting their data out in the open.
